One of the first questions i normally get when i introduce someone new to blogging is "how should i write my entries". Seth Godin (as often) has the answer, and according to him his guideline is valid for everything you might write, be it ad writing, business writing or notes.
I would like to extend his answer with the following:
I would like to extend his answer with the following:
- Don't start by publishing your own weblog, read other weblogs first
- Collect some bloggers you like and put them on your Blogroll. That's a good starting point for your sidebar
- Commenting is in my humble opinion more important than writing... it extends your social network. Don't simply wait until someone discovers your blog
- Have some blog entries "in there" before you start commenting. Bloggers are curious. They want to know who dropped a comment. (you might notice that there's only 3 entries in here by now... but there's more in german)
- Extend your reach by propagating your blog entries ... i will tell you about this during the next days. If you want to prepare yourself for that: Get a Twitter and a Friendfeed account.
